A Movement Made Visible — Civic Institute Branding & Narrative
How StoryForge gave a nascent civics institute the language, identity, and momentum to turn a founding conviction into a movement people could carry forward.
A founding civics institute with serious conviction and no public presence. StoryForge built the narrative, identity, and audience-development system that made the work visible — and joinable.

01
The Conviction
IACTL was founded by leaders who recognized that civic formation in America had quietly collapsed — and that rebuilding it would require institutions, not just opinions. The conviction was sharp. The public language for the work did not yet exist.
02
The Work
StoryForge developed the institute's core narrative, named what it stood for in language other leaders could carry, and built the identity and digital presence that gave the work credibility. From there we shaped the audience-development architecture: how prospective allies, funders, and partners encounter the institute and decide whether it is for them.
03
Why It Matters for Civic Leaders
Civic centers, civics institutes, and mission-driven nonprofits rarely fail for lack of urgency. They fail because the urgency never becomes a story other people can tell. Audience development is not marketing — it is the disciplined work of making a mission joinable.
